[A few days after gravity is restored to the station, Ryuji returns to the mess hall from Haru's garden to find a small robot flipped upside down, panicking through a series of morse beeps and boops, which- okay, that's kind of cool, and quickly figures out that the paneling and suction entrances of the little guy means it's probably meant for filtration and cleaning.

Looks pretty study, looks... waterproof, maybe? He lends a hand to get him right side up and it starts slowly moving forward. Ryuji takes out his communicator and immediately films this as it happens, because, why not?

He posts two videos on the network- the roomba moving down the hall and one, a few hours later in the fitness center as it crawls from the edge, and dives right in.]

Oh shit! Are you supposed to do that?

Whoa, whoa- I don't know how to fix you if you--- WHOA, COOL.




Hey, sup?

Just lettin you guys know the pool looks crystal clear now. All thanks to this little dude.

I figure I should give 'em a name but uh

Everything that comes to mind is kinda lame

Anyway, I think it's good? Anyone wanna give it the first try?

We need tools for this. I have some basic ones in the garden. Do you mind carrying Simba-chan?

[She gets up, DETERMINED. She knows if she believes in herself she will find the problem with their new robot friend and fix it before either of them even know it.

Though...limited experience with robots may cause this to go badly.]

Nah, 'course not. To the laboratory!

Er. Garden. Same thing.

[He lets a smile creep up the side of his face as he bends down, balancing himself on the front of his feet, squatting to lift up Simba-chan into his arms.

Goddamnit, it's wet. Of course it's wet.]

Can you uh. Can you grab my jumpsuit over there? I'll change when we get back to the garden.

[LET HIM RUN AROUND THE STATION IN HIS UNDIES.]

[AND OFF THEY GO.]

The garden-lab!

[She turns and picks up his jumpsuit. Carrying it along with them.]

Are you dry enough for that?

[ryuji]

Nah, probably not. [The worst thing you could possibly do is get a jumpsuit wet and then have to wear it. It'll start reeking like no other. They only have 2 sets of clothes each, which was a problem in and of itself.]

'Sides. Maybe I can make the plants face me on account'a my bod bein' hotter than the sun.

[Wow.

Just wow.

Impressive? A little? Maybe? At least he knows flowers tilt toward light sources, which makes this joke incredibly jockish and incredibly nerdy at the same time. He likes to think he picked up the best parts from his friends.]

Wow, Ryuji-kun. I certainly have no comment for that.

[She is going to find her toolkit. When she comes back she has this to say:]

I think if anything, the plants would face towards your sunshine blonde hair.

[Ryuji's eyes widen a little bit, and maybe? just maybe he's flustered a little bit. His bravado was just a false projection in the end, and he had expected Haru to knock him down a notch or two, or joke about it a little bit... but when she comes out swinging about his hair, he just smiles to himself, hugging Simba to his chest even tighter.

Man, he had some good friends.]
