Alright, I won't waste anyone's time with pointless questions about how or why we got here, but there are a couple of things I'm looking for information about:
1. How many minors and noncombatants are aboard this station? Note, these are separate categories. I don't care how powerful or skilled you are; if you're under twenty, I consider you a member of the former.
2. It'll be helpful for us to have an idea of each other's Quirks. I'm not under the illusion that all of us have reason to trust each other or cooperate, but presumably none of us want to be here, so. If you're willing to provide information on any abilities you might have that could be considered "supernatural" in any way, I intend to compile it for our collective use.

Might it not be more helpful to simply list off those who are willing to fight if trouble comes?
How or by what means is really their own business. If they choose to fight, they do so knowing their own skill and ability. That's all the judgement that's required, I should think.

[JUST. SIGHING. This is exactly the argument he was trying to avoid and he's been stuck having it over and over again.]

[ Lelldorin. He's talking about Lelldorin. Finest bowman in Asturia. Judgement of a drunken duck on a bender on a GOOD day. Garion has literally had to ask him "how do you run someone through 'just a little bit'?" before. ]
A few people here seem to be sensitive to the idea of keeping a list of skills or abilities, but a solution to that may be to set a practical test to those who wish to fight instead.
To keep it short: judge maturity case by case, as we're a small enough village her, and judge ability practically to ensure that combatants are prepared for whatever threat you're concerned about.
apologies for the delay, some of these notifs got buried slkdjflsf

no worries!
But there may be something that younger fighter can do that the older can't, for one. And being off the battlefield is no guarantee that harm will stay away, for another.
MHA SPOILERS FOR ANYONE NOT CURRENT WITH THE ANIMU
[He still considers it a personal failure that Bakugo had been captured by the League of Villains, and he was at the top of the class.]

All right, so, if you'd like to argue, let's pick something else that we clearly don't agree on and keep it easy to keep rolling.
no subject
Yeah, I don't think so.
[As far as he's concerned, you're the one who came in here to argue with him about the usefulness of the term "minor", bucko.]

[ He was mostly trying to rephrase things to make people less fussed. From his point of view, the task will be accomplished a lot more easily if people aren't arguing with him.
He's a king. And worse than that, an Overlord of several kings. It's what he has to do more often than not.]

Where I come from-
Well, that doesn't matter, but suffice to say, I'm used to showing off the shine on a horseshoe properly. To put it another way.
no subject
I don't intend to sugarcoat anything.
As for your suggestion of a test, I don't know how that would go over any better. I'd be seen as attempting to assert authority where I have none.
no subject
And it's not sugar coating to make it clear what purpose and intent you have for the information. I'd call it more speaking plainly, really.
no subject
There's a difference between basic information gathering and suggesting I impose an assessment to determine who's allowed to engage in combat. I have no interest in doing so, for that matter.
I've been upfront about my intentions from the start. The rest of you can take me at my word or not.
no subject
Except you asked for that information to assess how different people should be treated by your own admission:
People under 20 are considered minors.
Minors should be protected, on the battlefield or not.
People who have abilities who are willing to share that information should do so to compile that information for everyone's knowledge.
And while you didn't intend to imply that anyone who didn't share might be wary or suspicious of others, that implication is there.
I am in my mid thirties and I have the ability to use the Will and the Word, known by some as sorcery. I don't mistrust you, or at least not enough to withhold information that anyone in my world would know. I think you mean to help. Whether I agree with any of the above or not doesn't change what I'm saying.
I am calling a spade a spade. Intentional or not, your message implied judgement. Which is fine; I'm not telling you what to do. But you should be aware of that.
no subject
This debate is pointless. I'm looking to find out what resources we're working with and who the more vulnerable groups among us are. If that implies judgment, so be it.
[He decides to move on to the more useful part of the other man's comments.]
When you say sorcery, does that imply a broad range of abilities, or does it focus on a specific area?
no subject
And yes, sorcery provides a broad range of abilities, including making things from nothing, though that is usually not worth the energy expended. In this situation, it might be, however, if there's something we truly need.
no subject
How much energy does it take to create? Does the size or number of the things you make matter?
[About a five second pause in responses before another text appears:]
Can the energy required be replenished simply by rest or will you need "fuel" in a more literal sense, like food?
[Like, can they use him for everyday necessities like first aid supplies, or does he need to conserve his power for large emergencies?]
no subject
I haven't done it a great deal because it's usually a better idea to make it normally.
And rest will do. Though I do like food well enough.

My Aunt Pol and my grandfather both preferred not to do it and I suppose I just followed their lead. I've never explored the idea much since I didn't need to.

[Cutting right to the chase, here. He doesn't bother to reassure the other man that he wouldn't waste his time with frivolous requests; it's a simple yes or no as far as he's concerned.]

I'll do whatever I can within reason.
