CW: CHARACTER DEATH

[ The woman in the video is in her 30s, her distinctive hair loose around her shoulders, the white stripes making her pale skin quite noticeable. She shifts nervously as the message begins to broadcast, her expression uneasy while her eyes don't quite focus on the camera. Sure, she's looking in that general direction, she's just... not actually seeing anything. After a few moments, she finally speaks, southern drawl thick with nerves that make the words waver slightly. ]

Has anyone... Has anyone died recently? Here, on the station?

[ A pause. ]

Has anyone else died and woken up again?

[oh holy shit that's the body Akechi dragged in. That answers some questions.

Erika watches Hinata's exchange with her first, and skims some other conversations, and waits for the sour-stomach feeling of deep misgivings to fade. It doesn't quite. That'll have to be fine. The clean, mathematical process of building a custom filter puts down the bones of routine; she plans out what she'll say, then counts down to it in the seconds it takes for the code to do its work.]

You're the only one recorded.

[Erika's voice is young and rather flat, pressed clean of emotional creases. "I'm glad you're okay" - Hinata covered that. Erika isn't sure if she can say it without feeling like she's lying, because "okay" is a relative measure. And they're strangers anyways, in all the ways currently relevant, and she's not sure that condolences out of her mouth will be of any help.

Pause.]

My body isn't quite the same as it was before waking up here. It might be related. [Pause.] How clear are your memories of - I want to gather information. Subjective information. Do you - can I ask questions?

[There is the faintest rumpling of that flatness, an awkward fumbling in her tone that slips free for a moment.]

[That's good, on multiple levels. Erika has little trouble trusting the woman's permission - she's often in the business of worrying about people, but rarely in taking responsibility for strangers' welfare. It makes things easier in general.]

Can you describe the time between dying and waking up again? Was it immediate, or was there any sense of a period between the two?
