Probably not, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Nah. You can't have everyone sacrificing themselves for the greater good. Then you wouldn't be saving anyone at all.

Not selfish, necessarily. Just safe. People living their lives, not having to worry about danger.

how do you know which sort of person you are?

I don't know. Different ways, I suppose. Something bad happens, maybe, and you learn whether you're going to help, or hide. And there's no shame in hiding, mind you. There's more than one way to protect what you care about.

I suppose, then, that I have to really think and decide what I care more about... Helping others, or protecting myself.
