So.
Any theories yet?
Not just in regards to our being here, mind you, but for the disaster that seems to have befallen the previous crew here.
Personally, I'm starting to wonder if this station isn't a living thing in its own right.
But maybe that sounds a little crazy? Haha.
Please don't be shy to share your thoughts with me.
As a rookie detective, I'd be open to hearing whatever insights you might be able to provide.

Any guesses at what happened to the old crew, Crow?

Let's see...
From what information we have, it sounds as though they were trying to solve some sort of large-scale problem, but the method they used backfired on them.
The station is surprisingly intact for a disaster that wiped out an entire crew, so either it occurred on the lower decks we can't reach, or it caused people to simply vanish.
We're now plagued by strange occurrences that seem to be almost supernatural in nature.
After-effects caused by the disaster, maybe? That recording does seem to suggest they've somehow doomed the world with whatever they did.
Or the station is a living thing out to torture us, but who knows.
What about you, Skull? What are your thoughts?
I'm sure they're enlightening.

[He had some other theories, but they didn't really make much sense, and he's certainly not about to open up his thoughts to Akechi.]
Or, someone betrayed the crew and murdered 'em and now we're here stuck trampling around in their fresh graves, and they're pissed at that someone
Would hate to be that guy

I'm more curious about your first suggestion, though.
I hadn't considered that might be a reason for us to be deliberately brought here... it's not impossible, but why take a chance like that, I wonder.
The message @APHRODITE heard implies that they made at least six different attempts at whatever they were doing.
Did they really think a handful of random civilians taken from across different dimensions would fare any better?Hm.
If that was their motive, then where do you think they are now?
Was bringing us here their last act?

So far I've heard of people finding moving wire underneath their skin and doors that "swallow" people when they attempt to push them open.
There have also been those noises in the halls. I don't think a person could possibly fit in the space between the walls, but there are most certainly cries for help coming from inside them.
It simply feels... malicious.

[It's an honest question. He's blind, he hasn't actually seen any of this shit happen.]

However, even if this is some kind of staged trick, it's on a scale far beyond my experience.
There are people here on the station that are, beyond a doubt, not human.
So the fact that many of us have been finding through conversation that we seem to be from different dimensions entirely...
It seems to rule out the idea that any of this is within the scope of "normal" deduction.

Considering we've been brought here from different dimensions, you have to consider answers that are beyond "normal."
Really, it's just something I thought because so many of the "accidents" that have taken place these past few days strike me as somewhat malicious.

Jury's out on whether I'm figuring this is all some kinda testing thing, they're gonna come down for us (or up), or we're just out here to rot.

It's rather open for a prison, wouldn't you say? On top of that, there are the recordings we've picked up from the previous crew that suggest they were working on something significant.
Those could be a fabrication, of course, but I'm not sure what the logic behind that would be.
If this were a prison ship, what would be the reason for our being brought here?
no subject
It's like a combo prison and execution chamber!
Or maybe they just want us outta the way but they're trying to have a little fun with it.
You get a better show watching people stumble around finding out that the drinks are shit and getting stuck in doors than you do just letting them sit there in cells.

I suppose the question is whether those sounds are manmade--
that is, deliberately manufactured and being put into use now for some unknown purpose--
or whether it's environmental. Ghosts, a sentient station, some sort of temporal disturbance or reality distortion.

you learn to just kind of press the pillow over your ears and keep sleeping as best you can
i tried feeling inside the walls and didn't notice anything, so i have a feeling it's probably kind of supernatural
think maybe it could be whoever was here before us?

a living thing? so sort of like an android turned sentient?
that's terminator-level thinking.

More like... a haunted house.

[ if this station is alive, it's a LOT more friendly ]
Ask better questions, rookie. You're too nice about it.
no subject
That kind of thing only exists in sci-fi movies for me.
I feel more than a little out of my depth, trying to come up with theories for something I can't understand.
Too nice... Ah, do you think so?
I'm afraid I'm more accustomed to TV interviews than questioning suspects, so I usually have to be polite.
What would you suggest, Steel-san?
no subject
There's a lot to the job. Most of it you learn by trial and error. Your current error is being too nice about it.
People love to disagree, so give them a reason to, and usually when they set you "right", they'll offer more than you could get from them with honeyed words.
"Juno" is fine, by the way.
