This morning, I received a message on my communicator from the username m.muller. When I tried to message them back, all I received was an error. I don't recognize her, but maybe someone else will.

[So Mako attaches a video file. There's a woman with frizzy red hair and freckles on screen, looking slightly panicked. "My name is Martina Muller," she says, and her voice is calm and slightly accented. There's a sudden crash behind her, and she cuts herself off with a gasp. "You have to warn the others! There is a traitor on board. Wherever you are, there is a traitor on board, you have to–"

And then the message cuts off.]

It seems like not everyone received it, so it wasn't a network wide broadcast. As far as I can tell, it came from the station, but I don't know where.

I also tried to unlock one of the doors. I've figured out which wires control the locking mechanism, but nothing I did to override or overload them seemed to work. Has anyone else had any luck?

I've tried it but I didn't get very far. I'm better at mechanics and engineering than programming.

I guess there are a lot of things that aren't working correctly. I just wish we could figure out exactly what's wrong.

some people have talked about, like, fluids that harden with pressure or something?
but i don't really get any of that.

so i'm just sort of going with "it's ghosts" and rolling with that.

What sort of life support systems are there on a station this size?

I was worried about that. Would there be any sort of warning in the system if it was a contagion?

I'd hope so. How big are they usually?

Any time would be fine. It's not like I have jobs to go to.

I know how you feel. It doesn't seem like we're working with the same rules.

If I were to guess I'd say that whatever artificial intelligence that governs this station is malfunctioning.

I lived on a space ship that was as big as a city - 50 miles long and 35 miles high. Things in space can be as big or as small as you want them to be, I guess.

That's still a pretty useful skill set as we try to find a way into the rest of the station.

Yes. They opened a portal between our world and theirs and tried to colonize Earth.

Assuming ghosts exist only makes things more complicated.
I think there's something wrong with the way the station is operating, and if we can figure out what, everything else will make sense.

A few people have mentioned something like that. I don't have any experience with complex AI.

I hope so. I think I'll be able to figure out how things work, even if they aren't quite the same as back home.
