[Trevor hates this technology. He yearns for simpler times.]
Straight out of the Gresit catacombs!
God shits in my dinner once again.
Where is the local bar?
I need a soft bed and hard ale.
[He'd woken near a bar but stumbled past it in a daze. Unfortunately. For everyone, obviously. Everything around him was metal and there weren't any windows. Where was all the fresh air? The ground. Why was he wearing horrible gray-green overalls. They did nothing for his complexion or chiseled jaw line.
The network briefly gets an up close shot of his face as he taps the device at his wrist. It's there and gone again.]
Right.
I'll come back later.
Let me know if you can find some beer.
[Or tell him what's going on. Priorities.]

A monster. At least Dracula had the good sense to look mostly human, as did other vampires.
He's not purposefully prejudice. It's not a religious or hateful thing. But he's lost his entire family to monsters and has yet to meet one that wasn't trying to hurt others. He's lost many people. He has to be careful.]
Trevor Belmont.
[He raises an eyebrow and he knows honesty is all that's going to do any good here.]
I don't know what you are but I demand an explanation. Do not lie to me.

Belmont. Got it. Well, uh, I'm Venus? It's nice to meet you. [ and because that totally answers what she is, she just sort of. pretends not to have heard him there? ] You know, Aphrodite on the network? I said I'd show you how the replicators work.
[ you know, it's a real pain in the ass, being the devil. you don't have anyone you can pray to that the promise of alcohol will be enough for this guy. ]

[Trevor has no weapons but he has his hands. He won't go down easily.]
This doesn't have to be complicated.
[He just needs to know. He needs reassured. Trevor's instinct is to fight before something worse happens. He can't help his nature.]

[ she can't help the words coming out of her mouth right now. she wants to help this human; why can't he see that? why is he so fixated on what she is, what she's supposed to act like, that he can't just accept that?
venus smiles his way, the picture of saccharine kindness. she doesn't want to lie, despite alucard's best efforts. not even by omission. but sometimes, that's the only choice you're left with, right? and it's not like tricking someone is the worst thing the devil ever does. so she opens her mouth, and says with a sick sort of satisfaction: ]
...shouldn't a man of God know what the angels look like?

[Trevor could come to trust someone like her. He could, if he saw that she wasn't going to do anything that she shouldn't. He just doesn't know how to make it an instant process.]
A man of God? Is that what you think I am. [He snorts.] I believe in God but I am no man of his.
[He frowns.]
You're no angel.

[ a part of it's to buy time, but only a part. this is just... sort of how she talks, a nervous collection of rambles stacked up on top of each other until she forgets where she was. but she hasn't forgotten the situation she's in, and neither has he, and she's out of time.
so she laughs, and scratches the back of her head, and decides to toss alucard's advice out the window. fuck it. it's not like lying has done any better here?? ]
Would you believe me if I said I was the devil, then?

[Ah, he wasn't angry at all, was he. Trevor disliked the church. Not what it stood for but the actions men made in the church's name. Cruel acts. Lies. Alucard would know first hand what the church could do.]
It would be more fitting, but no. I wouldn't believe you.
[Trevor waves a hand through the air.]
The point is, we've just met. You can't expect me to trust you. When someone looks the way you do where I am from, they hardly ever take the time to speak before killing. That is something in your favor.

[ and it looks like she means it, too. she peaceably lets him speak his piece, only clearing her throat once he's finished. ]
Well... I mean. I don't really want to kill anything? Like, that probably means next to nothing, but. I guess it's better to say it than to not?? [ think, think. there's got to be something she can say, here. ] You, uh... you were talking with Alucard, right? Would him saying I'm alright be helpful here? Or would the whole- you know. The dhampir thing. Would that make it difficult.
