Hey, ya'll.
[ Hi Reverie Fam, it's your resident faux texan Martian, here, his warm drawl caressing your ears. For those of you that have them and can still hear out of them, anyway. ]
So I've been thinkin'.
We've been gettin' access to some new areas, but I'll be honest and say that there's on in particular I've been most interested in gettin' in, but we might need a team to do it like we did for the door to Operations. We need to get into the Hangar Bay. We know there is one - the map up in operations made that clear, and I'm pretty sure I even know the exact door we need to get in. We just need to get in it.
So I thought--
[ He cuts off sharply with an ow!, and then there's a clattering noise as the communicator hits the floor. Silence for a couple seconds, and then in a breathless whisper that sounds like it's coming from several feet away: ]
Holy shit, where did these come from? [ There's another rustling and clattering and the next time his voice is audible, it's from much closer to the mic. ]
Folks, I think we've got a ride.
I think we've got two rides, and--Wait, what? Where the hell'd they go??
[The audio disconnects.]

There's a barely audible sigh. ]
And where would they have just disappeared to? [ Okay, he knows Alex doesn't know the answer to that but the question comes out all the same exasperated. His mind is still turning over the information, thinking through options. ]
I guess, we're just going to have to relocate them again. If you say you saw them then they have to be somewhere.

[ He pauses, like he was struck by a bolt of lightning. ]
I gotta make a call.
[ The transmission ends, and twenty minutes later Alex reconnects, sounding excited. ]
Holy hell, I was right. It wasn't the ships that disappeared, boss. It was me.

Pacing. ]
You disappeared?

[ It takes a couple minutes, but then a video loads. It shows Alex walking down a hallway, talking into his comm, and then he suddenly dissolves exactly in the way that the videos of the missing people showed.
A few seconds later, he appears right back in the same place, looking around completely confused. ]
I think I - I think I teleported.
no subject
Though, he's just relieved that it was a teleport event and not Alex being disappeared somehow. ]
Did you do something different when it happened?
no subject
I didn't even push a weird button.
no subject
[ That's not dangerous at all but still... ]
You still think you know where you went to?
no subject
And where else on this station are we gonna find shuttles?
no subject
[ There's a pause. ]
You're completely alright, though?
no subject
[ He lets out a breath. ]
... Yeah. I think so. I don't feel any different.
