 Hey, ya'll.

[ Hi Reverie Fam, it's your resident faux texan Martian, here, his warm drawl caressing your ears. For those of you that have them and can still hear out of them, anyway. ]

So I've been thinkin'. 

We've been gettin' access to some new areas, but I'll be honest and say that there's on in particular I've been most interested in gettin' in, but we might need a team to do it like we did for the door to Operations. We need to get into the Hangar Bay. We know there is one - the map up in operations made that clear, and I'm pretty sure I even know the exact door we need to get in. We just need to get in  it.

So I thought--

[ He cuts off sharply with an ow!, and then there's a clattering noise as the communicator hits the floor. Silence for a couple seconds, and then in a breathless whisper that sounds like it's coming from several feet away: ]

Holy shit, where did these come from? [ There's another rustling and clattering and the next time his voice is audible, it's from much closer to the mic. ]

Folks, I think we've got a ride. 

I think we've got two rides, and--

Wait, what? Where the hell'd they go??

[The audio disconnects.]

Yeah, exactly. [ He does frown to himself, because he doesn't recognise the username or the voice, but - he also doesn't know everyone on the station, so. Maybe he just didn't see her. ]

Uh - No? You mean that thing that Kylo was tellin' me about, right? Sort of a religion thing?

No, I ain't.

Not even sure it exists, where I'm from.

A startling amount of people have told me that. It's the only thing I know of that could lend you abilities such as you experienced.

[ she doesn't correct his assumption, though she does file the name away... ]

The hangar bay is where you'd most like to gain access, personally, isn't it?

And yeah. More'n anything. But if wishes got me anywhere, I'd be back on the Roci.

Not necessarily. But most people do know of it, by adulthood. They've also been taught since adolescence where I'm from, however.

The Roci is your ship?

Well, pretty sure it just straight up doesn't exist, where I'm from, so I doubt it's got anythin' to do with that. Though I can see what some of y'all can do with it, so I wouldn't say no, if I could. [ Yeah he just assumes Jyn is a force wielder now. ]

Tha's right. The Rocinante. She's a hell of a ship, too.

You aren't the first person to tell me that.

[ in fact everyone but bodhi seemed to think it didn't exist at all. her tone is clipped, but it isn't alex's fault that this happened to them. she's trying to let it go. ]

Don't think I'll be the last one, either. Sorry, sweetheart. [ It's not dismissive. He honestly feels sympathetic about it. ]

She's a Martian Gunship, and I'm only the smallest bit biased when I say she's most beautiful ship in the whole damn system. Purrs like a kitty at 12 gees. She's meant to run a compliment of about 30 crew, but, there's only four of us for the most part. Five, with Prax, now. An' she don't mind at all. Hell, she'd probably be just fine for another few decades without too much maintenance.

Long as we kept her outta gunfights, anyway. Not like we're very good at that.

[ so many planets she's never heard of, but no matter. ]

A gunship who can't stay out of gunfights. You can't fault her for doing her job, now can you?

[donkeyballs]

Ah - right. If you know the Force, you definitely ain't from our neck of the woods.

Most people here, as far as I can tell, come from Earth. Same system as Mars - my home planet - and where humans originated. Mars was colonised a couple hundred years ago.

[ He can't help the fond smile. ]

Nah, can't fault her one bit. Just always hurts my heart a bit to have to patch her up after she gets caught in somethin'.

No, I'm afraid not. Mars and Earth are neighbors then? Have you ever been to Earth? So many people here call it home.

[ it's a strange coincidence, maybe. jyn has to smother a laugh at alex's admittance though - oh dear. ]

You remind me of another pilot I know. Have you been acquainted with Bodhi Rook?

[donkeyballs]

I ain't. Bobbie has - she's the only other Martian here, and she spent some time on Earth - but I spent most of my time out in the Belt, which is the other direction.

[ He looks genuinely pleased at the mention of Bodhi. ]

Yeah, I've met him. Total sweetheart. You guys know each other?

I've been to many planets, but none of them are anything like what Earth-dwellers describe.

[ it obviously fascinates her. a sweetheart, indeed. she's glad bodhi is making friends. ]

Bodhi is my teammate, without him... well. I like what you said. He has one of the purest hearts I've had the pleasure to know.

[donkeyballs]

Honestly, they describe it to me an' I can barely even imagine it.

Like seein' a real ocean. That'd be something. But don't think I'm gonna be on Earth, any time soon.


[ Talking about Bodhi is still keeping him smiling. ]

Seems pretty quiet, but he's a pilot, right? And I bet a pretty damn good one.

There's no ocean on Mars? Scarif had an ocean. That's where we were last.

He's the best pilot in the galaxy.

There's barely an atmostphere on Mars - any liquid on the surface just burns right off. We live under domes, for the most part, and tunnels.

You lived on Scarif?

[ Oh no, he's so charmed by this... ]

Glad to hear it. Hope I get a chance to see him fly.

[adjy]

It sounds almost like Coruscant, at least in the Galactic City.

[ she still had fond memories she'd left there, even though she should have been too young to make them. ]

We didn't live there, no. We had a mission, perhaps the most important one anyone's ever completed. [ she nods before remembering this isn't a video feed. ] I'm certain you will do, perhaps you each could learn something from one another.

The moment we unlock the hangar, that is. I should let you get back to it.

[donkeyballs]

[ He had about forty more questions, just from the slight hints of conversation he gave, but he could also pick up on the gentle dismissal. Should let her get back to whatever it was she was up to, too. ]

Yeah. I'll make a point to.
