So I've been thinkin'.

We've been gettin' access to some new areas, but I'll be honest and say that there's on in particular I've been most interested in gettin' in, but we might need a team to do it like we did for the door to Operations. We need to get into the Hangar Bay. We know there is one - the map up in operations made that clear, and I'm pretty sure I even know the exact door we need to get in. We just need to get in it.

So I thought--

[ He cuts off sharply with an ow!, and then there's a clattering noise as the communicator hits the floor. Silence for a couple seconds, and then in a breathless whisper that sounds like it's coming from several feet away: ]

Holy shit, where did these come from? [ There's another rustling and clattering and the next time his voice is audible, it's from much closer to the mic. ]

Folks, I think we've got a ride.

I think we've got two rides, and--

Wait, what? Where the hell'd they go??

[The audio disconnects.]

Sorry, sweetheart, I can't say I have much hope of that, an' I don't wanna go and get your hopes up. Unless one of them has this 'drive' that they were talkin' about on that video Mike and them found, my best hope is we might be able to get planet side with them.

It's a hell of a long way home, from here, even if we knew what direction to head in.

But - the ships might have a star map in 'em? So it ain't totally hopeless.

[Kamala listens to the rest carefully. She's disappointed, but it helps that he's being realistic with her. She can take some comfort in having reasonable expectations about their future.] But, okay. I thought I'd ask. We already have so much stuff going for us lately that it's okay if we don't have everything yet. This is still a great day for us!

[ Christ, she's a sweetheart. ]

Yeah, it's still a damn good day. And you're always welcome to ask - I ain't gonna tell you anythin' but the truth.

Just wish I had better news for you.

I don't mind as long as it's the truth. I get that I have the babiest of baby faces and you know my brother Aamir hogged the tall gene like the total jerk he is, but I don't want anyone to feel like they have to hide stuff from me. I can totally handle the truth!

So you know you're the best as always because I didn't even need to tell you any of that.
