Hey, ya'll.
[ Hi Reverie Fam, it's your resident faux texan Martian, here, his warm drawl caressing your ears. For those of you that have them and can still hear out of them, anyway. ]
So I've been thinkin'.
We've been gettin' access to some new areas, but I'll be honest and say that there's on in particular I've been most interested in gettin' in, but we might need a team to do it like we did for the door to Operations. We need to get into the Hangar Bay. We know there is one - the map up in operations made that clear, and I'm pretty sure I even know the exact door we need to get in. We just need to get in it.
So I thought--
[ He cuts off sharply with an ow!, and then there's a clattering noise as the communicator hits the floor. Silence for a couple seconds, and then in a breathless whisper that sounds like it's coming from several feet away: ]
Holy shit, where did these come from? [ There's another rustling and clattering and the next time his voice is audible, it's from much closer to the mic. ]
Folks, I think we've got a ride.
I think we've got two rides, and--Wait, what? Where the hell'd they go??
[The audio disconnects.]

If you'da asked me a year ago, I woulda said very well. But I ain't sure that - Mars has been gettin' up to some stuff that I don't rightly think is good for anyone. Better to stay out in the Belt, where we are. Were. You know what I mean.
[ There's no possible way that Haruto could know, just how painful this was to say. How painful it was to know.
But Mars had betrayed Bobbie - betrayed it's own Marines - helped develop a protomolecule hybrid...
All his loyalty and all his patriotism still couldn't have him rightly tell Haruto that he'd be safe. Not there.
The Belt, though. The belt he'd have a fairer shot. ]
And Earth you'd be fine on, though I ain't never been so I can't say all that much about it.

[ He'd ask what Alex's version of Earth is like, but since Alex has never been, Haruto figures he's the wrong person to ask. Maybe he'll ask Holden, some other time. ]

Ganymede probably looked pretty damn nice, before the mirror's fell. Titan's pretty far out, but there's a lot of trade that goes through there, so they got some decent livin'.
The Belt's a wide, wide place. Tycho station is the closest thing we've got to a home port, in it, but mostly we just live on the ship, when we can.

It all sounds so strange to me. Traveling the solar system. So futuristic, even though we're from roughly the same year.
