video; @nines - 7/19 & UPDATED 7/20
This is 9S.
[The video feed starts, showing a familiar looking android in a very unfamiliar location. It's the hangar bay, with two ships seated behind him. He's smiling brighter than he has in awhile, obviously feeling pretty good about himself after such a major breakthrough.]
As of last night, Haruto and I have unlocked the hangar doors. There's two large ships that look usable, but they need a command code in order to even get the doors open.
There's also four of these vehicles...? [9S points the camera at a set of rovers, and then pans over to show off the surface probes.] And a dozen of these weird things.
[Sorry, he really has no idea what they're called. He's not an astronaut.]
Anyway, it shouldn't take long to break the code for the ships, but I'm betting everything else needs a code too. They sure had this place locked up tight.... It's probably for the best if we keep all the equipment in the hanger bay for now. I don't think we'll be getting any replacement parts.

[VOICE] @nines
[A day passes, and there's another post by 9S on the network.]
This is 9S again.
I've cracked the first command code for one of the ships. It took longer than I expected, so any help is appreciated. There's still a long way to go.
[Then, a bit more off the cuff.] Um... We also might want to figure out if anyone can even fly these things? Yeeaah...
[He won't mention the voice he swears he heard after unlocking the ship. A woman's voice chiding him, "Do you even know how to fly these things?"]
[ ooc: I won't be making a log for the unlocking specifically, but this post can be used to have characters offer help and segue into action (or simply do it off screen). Mods said it will take 10 days for the codes on the ship and crawlers to all be unlocked. Feel free to threadjack, etc. ]

You need any help breaking the codes?

Sorry for the delay, Ma'am. Just about everything in here needs a command code to use, so any help would be appreciated. I just finished gaining access to the interior of one of the ships.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience.
[God she misses her computer right now, hell, she misses all of SHIELDs resources. Still, she's worked with less.]
Are you in command right now?

[She pauses to take a breath.] I don't know anything about codes, but keep up the good work! Let me know if you need anything that's actually doable for someone who hasn't finished high school!!!
no subject
I don't know what high school entails, but do you know anything about Old World space tech?

Well, non-stop on Haruto's end. [He really can't take all the credit here. Haruto's efforts were invaluable, and the inspiration for his own.] I had a few other things to take care of, but... I'm hacking into one of the ships now. It shouldn't take too long to get it open.

[This is far from a way out, but just seeing docked ships makes the Butler feel as though these humans he's tried to help have a far better range of options than before.]
Well done.
audio;
Thank you. Are you another AI?
[His gratitude is genuine, even if he immediately follows it up with prodding questions.]
audio;
That is so. We are called the Butler.
[Another? The Butler is curious.]
And yourself, sir?

[A pause.]
So we could send those probes down to the surface? If it's got flight capabilities, I might be able to control it remotely.

[Sure enough, if she decides to drop by 9S will be fiddling in the cockpit of the ship he unlocked. His location is given away pretty quickly by a frustrated whine.]
Do you seriously need another code just to operate this thing?
action!
That's frustrating for us, but it makes sense from a security standpoint.

Not that it's required, but it's still nice.

[He reaffirms, firmer this time.] That's right. I saw he was hacking the hangar doors by himself, and offered to help. Hacking is just what I'm good at, you know?
