hi
i'm hajime hinata. from japan, earth. probably the most significant thing about it is a really prominent high school called hope's peak, known worldwide for cultivating talent, so if you've heard of it, that's something we have in common at least.
that's really not why i'm trying out this posting thing, though. i mean, you've all been thinking about it, right? what we're supposed to do now? nobody's in charge here. there aren't any objectives to clear. there aren't even any rules.
do we just... live here? is that supposed to be enough? are we supposed to solve the mystery of what happened on this station before we can go home, like some kind of stupid murder-mystery dinner?
i guess what i'm trying to get at is... yeah, what i said before. what do we do now? i've had enough of weird processed food and pulling open the walls in search of voices to get nothing but wires and stuff i don't understand.

i haven't heard of it? but i guess i never really thought about high school much.
it was just sort of something you survived to get to college, you know?
anyway
i think... there's definitely something going on.
some sort of weird murder-mystery, except it's about the world?
a world-mystery?
and i don't really know if we're on a timer or not.
and even if we solve it, maybe we won't go home.
i'm not sure what we can really do about that.
until that though
there's a lot of stuff that needs fixed?
the bar is really run down and we're going to run out eventually
the uh. food machines? i wanted a cool sci-fi name for them but i guess "food machine" works.
except they don't work, and that's kind of the problem. we should try to see if we can fix them or update them.
things like that, you know?
no subject
so yeah it's kind of weird that nobody else has ever heard of it before. add that to the list of weird stuff we have to deal with here
how do we even start fixing alien technology, though? that's not really something i ever learned about in school. and just like... taking a screwdriver to something as complicated as something that makes food seems kind of dangerous, you know? since if we break it, that's a source of something we need to live that's just gone
no subject
i don't think we really have any schools like that in the us.
u.s.?
sorry. i'm not sure there's really a way to make that readable in lowercase haha
oh, yeah. for sure
we don't want to start with that.
but i mean... there's plenty of other stuff around the station, right?
we can probably try things on less important stuff first.
also
this might sound crazy, but...
the food machine can make a lot of different things, right?
what if it wasn't just food?
kind of like a 3d printer or something.
if we can figure something like that out we're set to go

Everybody's got something they're good at, just gotta take it easy and find what that is. Nothing that's easy to find is ever valuable, you know?
And if you wanna actually get your ass in gear and start doin shit, let's go clean up the pool or something.
no subject
but yeah i guess i can help you clean the pool if you want.
no subject
Which is bullshit.
[Speaking as someone... who became a thief completely unexpectedly.]
I used to be really good at running track until my coach went and broke my leg. That was gonna be my ticket out of high school, y'know? And then I wound up getting thrown into all sorts of other stuff and the next thing you know, I'm doin' things I never would've thought I was decent at.
Anyway, bring a spare jumpsuit to change into. You're gonna need it.
It's gonna be a brutal workout session.

For me, I plan on finding a way to leave as soon as I am able to.
audio;
I... want to leave, too. Of course I want to leave! I just don't see how that's possible when we don't know how we got here in the first place. If we fell through some kind of wormhole or... something. I have no idea where to even begin.
no subject
We are attempting to begin small by reaching the bridge. We hope that there is more information to be found there.
However, it does appear that perhaps having a checklist in mind of what we need to do to help ourselves in the meantime and have direction would not be a terrible decision.
What are your skills, Hajime?

Hinata-san, keep your head up, okay?
If you want to keep busy I’m trying to find things to make a hydroponics garden, you could help? We could also fix things together, at the very least if we are to live here...let’s make it a livable environment!
no subject
i don't know anything about hydroponics... or gardening, for that matter. i can try to help, if you can teach me what to do. do you think we'll really be able to grow stuff here?
you're a really optimistic person, huh?
no subject
I can teach you, it’s trial and error. But I can definitely teach you. It will give you something to do when you need something to take your mind off of other things.
I try to be, there isn’t much use in letting your brain paralyze you out of fear. Though, I have my friends to thank for giving me the strength.

Figuring out the station's layout, checking for any problems that may arise.
From there, the next point of interest would be the inaccessible areas of the station, I would imagine.
Of course, there is always the possibility that we'll have to accept our stay here as permanent.
no subject
i just can't accept it as permanent. we got here somehow, we can get back somehow. maybe not the same way, but that has to be our end goal. getting out of here. if we don't have anything to work toward, what's the point?
no subject
No one has had any luck breaking down doors either.
I'd say the next best thing would be to search the station for tools that could help us, or alternate routes.
Essentially, we should work together; go over everything with a fine tooth comb and collate our information.
Ah -- yes, of course. My apologies.
I didn't mean to say that we should give up.
You're right that having a future is necessary for motivation.
More like... focusing too much on something we can't do yet will take our energy away from surviving in the moment.
The station has already proven itself dangerous.

You know, that's a very good, reasonable concern. Nobody is in charge here, and well, sometimes that's good. Sometimes that's bad. Most of the time it's bad.
Guess I'll take that responsibility. It's alright, I have a ton of leadership experience. I got you, man.
no subject
uh... thanks?
so you'll take responsibility for getting everyone home then
1/... i'll cap it at three to save your sanity

[ HE CAN'T BACK DOWN NOW?? ]
I mean, of course. That's what good captains do, after all. First priority: the crew.
Just give me a bit of time to fine tune my good plan.
i'm crying laughing thank u
i'm crying too but out of shame ... 1/2 this time

2. Information gathering
I don't like it any better than you do, but those need to be our priorities, and in that order. We must get sufficient nutrition, sleep, and exercise, so that we can gather information. We must gather information, so we can better learn how to survive, so that we can gather more information. And when we have enough information, we can determine if there's a way to get everyone back to where they came from.
no subject
do you think we'll have to fight whoever brought us here?
un: golgothasTerror
I guess we just do whatever we want to do!
Do you want to solve the murder mystery? Be a spiffy detective?
I think this is rather like a scifi movie you know?
So its probably just aliens in the vents or something.
Which is still pretty spooky! Im not too keen on a brain slug wiggling into my ear and taking over my brain.
Not that it has to be brain slugs.
Uhm... Sorry i got distracted. Didnt mean to yak on like that.
no subject
yeah, lots of them. it's the most prestigious school in the world, of course there would be movies set in it.
i don't know about being a detective, but... somebody has to do something. and i really, really hope it's not fighting aliens in the vents.
...you don't really think it's brain slugs, do you?? like you haven't seen one or anything. right?
no subject
Which is a right shame because it sounds like a neat setting for some riveting blockbusters!
Id love to see those. Oh well...
I havent seen any brain slugs! Not that i know what they look like?
I guess like normal slugs but tinier maybe.
Maybe with tentacles too.
Uh but dont worry! Aside from all the assorted hullabaloo others reported i havent seen anything odd.
[Though it seems like he startled him. He has to apologise somehow.]
But if an alien comes round you can rely on me.
I dont have my guns but maybe i could wrestle it.
