[She looks like hell thanks to exhaustion, but she figures that adding another project to the pile is exactly what she needs to keep from going crazy. So she reaches out to the network at large, hoping other people are listening and are open to working together.]

My name is Karen Page.

[There's a pause as she tries to figure out the best way to address her concern.]

I know none of us were expecting to be here for long, but the fact is there's no telling when we'll be able to go back home. There may not even be a home to go back to. I know people have discussed working on the fabricators, but is anyone considering the best way to repair the pool? It can't be sanitary to just leave the water in the condition it's in now.

I've been drawing up ideas, but I know this is something better worked on in a group.

[Really, she just wants a way to meet more people and figures this is a way to do that and be productive at the same time.]

The pool in its current state is a significant biohazard. The first order of business is to drain the water and clean whatever algae has been growing or whatever sort of detritus has fallen in there. If we can repair the plumbing, fine. But better to leave it dry and empty than let it sit stagnant.

Bleach is perishable, unfortunately. Even if we find it, it may not be usable. Draining the water and exposing the area to extreme heat and bright light would at least be a start.

Whether or not it's safe depends on what the structure is made of. Pond scum is more susceptible to heat than steel. But you're right, that can be determined when we examine it.

There has to be some way we can manipulate the life support system and raise the temperature enough. Even just putting ice on the thermostat or something. Then we can see if we can get the fabricators to produce a lot of salt, as I don't think we'll be able to find chlorine.
