[She looks like hell thanks to exhaustion, but she figures that adding another project to the pile is exactly what she needs to keep from going crazy. So she reaches out to the network at large, hoping other people are listening and are open to working together.]
My name is Karen Page.
[There's a pause as she tries to figure out the best way to address her concern.]
I know none of us were expecting to be here for long, but the fact is there's no telling when we'll be able to go back home. There may not even be a home to go back to. I know people have discussed working on the fabricators, but is anyone considering the best way to repair the pool? It can't be sanitary to just leave the water in the condition it's in now.
I've been drawing up ideas, but I know this is something better worked on in a group.
[Really, she just wants a way to meet more people and figures this is a way to do that and be productive at the same time.]

[ Look, he's all for fixing the pool. But he also feels like it would have been a suggestion of his, probably shot down by someone smarter because his reason would have been "for fun, don't you remember what fun is?" (To which the answer would likely be "no, now shut up.")
So he has to make sure that's what she said. It could be too good to be true, after all. ]
You'd probably have to start by draining it, right?

[Karen's all for using it for fun, but she's also thinking of it from a stagnant and disgusting water point of view. Basically, whatever anyone's reason is for wanting it done, she's just grateful to have a project to bury herself in. She isn't sure if he's questioning her on it because he thinks the idea is stupid or he's intrigued.]
Draining it's a good first step, but we need to figure out if the filtration system is working. If not, we'll need to find a way to repair it. And then there's the matter of finding enough water to fill up an entire pool out in the middle of space.

[ There's a pause as he considers the rest of her thought process. Normally they'd just re-fill it with its own water, once cleaned. That tends to be how most of space worksβand he fondly remembers finding that out as a young kid, learning that even waste was re-used. Really, really he doesn't want to mention that. ]
I haven't looked too closely but the filters should be accessible without going into the water, right?

We can go take a look at it together and see. I want to say the filters should be, but I can't make any promises. There must be a way to access it from the side of the pool though.

first off, thank you for doing this?
because i'm pretty sure neptune might literally die if she can't swim at some point.
or well. figuratively?
maybe literally too. i should probably ask.
but second.
don't you need chlorine for that?
i'm pretty sure you can make chlorine gas with some cleaning stuff but i don't know if that really works on the pool.
also it's super deadly for humans.
so. maybe not our first choice

[She wishes she had better news than that, but at this point it's looking like actual swimming may have to wait a while.]
I hope that we'll be able to make enough progress that your friend will be able to swim. Can I ask why she would literally die if she's not able to?

is old water useful for anything?
i'm not really any good with chemistry. or biology. or actually any of that?
if it ends with "y" i probably can't do it. haha
oh she's uh
sort of made of water?
and also not. it's complicated
i think if there was more water around she'd be a lot more... wet?
as it is she just kind of gets puddles everywhere.

I don't know much about the complicated, inner mechanisms of a cleaning unit or whatever the fuck keeps the chlorine in there
But even I can tell it needs to be drained and scrubbed
It smells like a swamp!

I'll help drain it. It might be a good idea to draft up a list of people who want in
