[She looks like hell thanks to exhaustion, but she figures that adding another project to the pile is exactly what she needs to keep from going crazy. So she reaches out to the network at large, hoping other people are listening and are open to working together.]

My name is Karen Page.

[There's a pause as she tries to figure out the best way to address her concern.]

I know none of us were expecting to be here for long, but the fact is there's no telling when we'll be able to go back home. There may not even be a home to go back to. I know people have discussed working on the fabricators, but is anyone considering the best way to repair the pool? It can't be sanitary to just leave the water in the condition it's in now.

I've been drawing up ideas, but I know this is something better worked on in a group.

[Really, she just wants a way to meet more people and figures this is a way to do that and be productive at the same time.]

is old water useful for anything?
i'm not really any good with chemistry. or biology. or actually any of that?

as it is she just kind of gets puddles everywhere.

I'm not very good with any of that either. But I'm sure we can find a way to sanitize the water and make it useful for something.

Maybe your friend would have some insight, since she's made of water? I mean, most people are made up of a lot of water. But it sounds like your friend comes from the ocean. [Like a mermaid? That's what she's picturing ok.]

How is she doing now? I can't imagine space is being very kind to her.

oh yeah. i mean, if it's sanitized, we can do a lot of things.
like... swim? and shower, if we run out of water elsewhere.
that's a scary thought. haha.

No, I understand. The showers don't sound like they'd be enough for someone like her. With any luck, we'll be able to give her a place to be more like herself.

You're lucky to have a friend here that you know. It isn't easy to be taken from home and be put in a situation like this.

i don't know if i really have words for how much they mean to me.

[ definitely not words like "girlfriends." she's pretty sure you have to actually ask someone out on like, a formal date? to do that? so sharing a room and and being the devil together and making out sometimes definitely doesn't count. ]

[Which is cute, really. It makes Karen smile and puts her in a good mood. Which means that she's feeling optimistic and ready to give a pep talk.]

you did, but I don't believe it's true. Sometimes I feel the same thing about myself. I know I was feeling like I'm not very good at anything that could be done here. But we have to find ways to be useful. And if that means lifting heavy things, then I think I have a job for you.

i'm decent with wiring stuff? and fixing radios.
but i haven't found any radios here, and the wiring has other problems here with it.
like the screams. i can't really do much about that.

but i can lift heavy things.
