I don't understand why anyone is scrambling to fill positions just because we've all gotten a list from some mysterious source. Those might have been the jobs on the station before it was deserted, but that doesn't mean we need to force people into those roles now. None of us know each other, which means none of us can make any good, informed decisions.

I do think it's important that we have people working on some of the things listed, but I suggest we use volunteer groups. Anyone with experience in engineering and mechanics can form one group to work on unlocking the station and getting it in working order. There can be a group of medics and doctors, researchers, whatever we all decide is useful, but I think the best choice at the moment is to have those groups be on equal footing and make decisions together.

Putting anyone in any sort of position of authority now, when there are so few of us and we've only known each other a few weeks, is a terrible idea. The chance of someone charismatic and ill-suited taking control is too high, and I don't want to deal with anyone abusing their power on top of everything else.

hm.
i think i agree? mostly.
volunteer groups sound nice. that way nobody's doing something they don't want.

the only thing i disagree with is you using "now" at the end.
we don't need anyone calling themselves leader, i don't think. :)

I have a question.

What is that that you are doing at the end of your sentence? With the colon and bracket. I have seen you do it before, but I'm not familiar with the grammatical addition it may have.

[This is important]

you can make other faces too!
some of them are more complicated than others, though?
so i just sort of ignore them.
but some are real easy.

:(

that one's a frowning face. haha

I see. I suppose if you're used to using devices and writing in this way, then that would make sense to use the symbols as you can as a means to express yourself.

That's very charming. [He's being sincere.] Do you have other examples?
wingstosee: (unacceptable)

[personal profile] wingstosee 2018-05-17 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
[ WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP CALLING HER CHARMING?? if it wasn't alucard she'd absolutely call him out on it. but as it is - and given the whole feeding situation from earlier - she actually thinks he's being honest.

she is blushing a bright fucking red the entire time she responds.

yeah!! like, there's...
:/
for when you're kind of feeling unsure?
and uh...
:P
you're sticking your tongue out

>:) for when you're feeling kind of. devious, i guess?
it's supposed to be your eyebrows.

[wow aren't you relieved he can't see that shit]

I take it this is common practice for one so attuned to using this text feature.

Which would you picture me using?

[ this is it. this is how she dies. the hot vampire guy who totally drank her blood and spoke poetry at her and kissed her hand is asking which emoticons to use.

she swallows down her anxiety and embarrassment, in a tangible, actual gulp, and types.
]

i don't think... you'd use any?
you're very. elegant? i think that's the word
so it might seem kind of weird coming from you?

it might make you sound old even. :(

[Alucard isn't offended. As a matter of fact, he lets out his dry sounding chuckle.]

You are sweet.

Perhaps I will use one when you least expect me to.

haha.
maybe i'll enjoy that!
but also, you have to use text to do that.
i don't think it really works if you say it out loud. :P

No, I wouldn't think so.

The text feels... strange to me. Not quite right. But I've written with ink all my life, so this entire network is new to me.

I suppose I will use it sometime. If not simply for one of the faces.

hmm...
i guess that's true? that we don't know how things will end up.
but what good does making someone leader do?
it just gives away what options we have to a single person.

i guess they're better as a scapegoat? but i don't really like that option.
actually, i kind of hate it.
