Steve, it's Henryk. I'm afraid I don't agree with the wisdom of selecting a small group to provide security on the station. If we are attacked by an outside force, it would be better to mobilize everybody, similar to a militia. With such a small population we will need all hands on deck in such an event.
Furthermore, creating a group to police each other sets a bad precedent, in my opinion. There is nothing guaranteeing that a self-selected group would have the best interests of us all at heart, or that they would be better equipped to determine what is best for us all in the case of interpersonal conflict.
