Text; UN: NavySpear
There were people here before, right? So where's all their stuff? Even if they all got chest-bursted their belongings should still be here, but I didn't find so much as a toothbrush in my cabin.
Has anybody found anything useful?
Has anybody found anything useful?

I found a glove, does that count?
Before you ask: just the one.

Then he thinks, screw it, and is merely bemused.]
To all the pirates on board, sure?

Someone found a book, if I'm recalling correctly.
Like a proper printed-on-paper one, which blew my mind a bit.

[Then Alex blows Mike's mind a bit. Again.]
Right. Mister From the Future.

Depends on the book? I wasn't a reference manual, I'd remember that much.
Ain't a lot of trees on mars, partner. Far as I know even Earth don't print many paper books these days.

Chest bursted?
no subject
[Speaking of--]
You know, the chest-burster-- from Alien? [Wait for it.] After the guy gets-- [...] Oh. You're not from my neck of the woods, are you?
no subject
[ Maybe. ]
I'm not familiar with the reference, so I'd assume not.
no subject
[Against all evidence, sure, but maybe he'd be able to sleep.]
Ah, well. It's a movie. [Does he know what movies are?] About a group of people in space who encounter an alien lifeform. It's starts as a parasite that grows inside a guy's chest cavity. Then when it's ready to evolve into its next form it leaves in the most dramatically bloody way possible.
Chest-bursted.

that's a new thing to worry about.
there wasn't much in my cabin, just a book of old poems.

So are there still some things left, but nothing that really helps us in any way. Convenient.

But don't worry, were it real, I don't think you could have missed it. It's big and nasty and gets people everywhere.
