There were people here before, right? So where's all their stuff? Even if they all got chest-bursted their belongings should still be here, but I didn't find so much as a toothbrush in my cabin.
Has anybody found anything useful?

[Against all evidence, sure, but maybe he'd be able to sleep.]
Ah, well. It's a movie. [Does he know what movies are?] About a group of people in space who encounter an alien lifeform. It's starts as a parasite that grows inside a guy's chest cavity. Then when it's ready to evolve into its next form it leaves in the most dramatically bloody way possible.
Chest-bursted.

So I'm gonna assume a movie is what we'd call a holovid.
I've never heard of a species that can do that, where I'm from. Interspecies breeding is not really a big thing. But since it's not real, guess it doesn't really matter.
Either way, that's. Gruesome. And it's certainly a morbid reference.
[ they weren't chest bursted were they?? ]

But, on the plus side, besides not actually existing-- [That he knows of, yet; who knows in this impossibly real nightmare.] -- --if it were here, you'd know it. It's not exactly discreet.

[ it might be sarcasm, but no he is actually legit freaked out by all of this. ]
I don't know if this, whatever we have to deal with here being subtle is that much better, you know? Not knowing what to expect, or when to expect it... I don't like it either.

I agree. It's hard enough to plan for something you don't fully understand, but to try and prepare for things you can't know exist.... We've got our work cut out for us.

My advice is, don't try and open or push on any of those locked doors too hard. If one starts to feel like it's gonna give, it's probably not because it's gonna open.
It'll let you go eventually, but it doesn't make the experience any better.

Are you alright now?
