[V I D E O] [UN: CONNOR]
Hello.
[The standard jumpsuit immediately gave him away as a new arrival, his expression was neutral, but pleasant.]
I've been informed that introducing oneself in this manner is advisable to those who have recently found themselves on board.
My name is Connor. I am a CyberLife RK800 model android. [It was important to introduce himself this way. CyberLife androids, though very realistic, weren't ever supposed to be deceptive about their true natures. His carefully measured words and tone and even the way he moved, his expressions, all reinforced his claim. And, if there were any other doubts that he might not be an android, he had a small, circular LED on the side of his temple that flickered blue from time to time as he spoke.]
I've been granted access to all messages transmitted publicly over the inter-station network. There have been some very odd occurrences, not to mention our sudden arrival here, the locked areas of the station, and it's absent crew. I was hoping to discuss the theories that you all have regarding our presence here, especially if you have any evidence to support it.
I also wish to offer my assistance to anyone who is endeavoring to find out more about the station or a way for us to return to where we were brought here from.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

9S decides to match the formalities Connor presents, albeit briefly.]
This is YoRHA Unit 9S. I specialize in support and recon, but I've never heard of any "CyberLife".
Where's your primary base of operations?
[There's a good chance they aren't even from the same "world", but there's always a chance. After all, it wasn't that long ago that no one had heard of YoRHa.]
no subject
But... CyberLife could assign me to any city.
no subject
[Before Connor can even answer, he quickly changes the topic.]
Actually, nevermind. What's the status of mankind in your world?
no subject
I'm unsure what you're asking.
no subject
[He'll just say it outright then.] Are your humans on Earth or the Moon?
no subject
no subject
[He doesn't think androids were around during Old World times, but even if they are, it still means he and Connor are from vastly different Earths.]
We may not be from the same time, but we can still work together. Let's rendezvous, it'll be easier to share information that way.
no subject
[He perked up a little.]
I would be happy to. Is there somewhere you would prefer?
no subject
Let's meet at the Chapel by the Observation Deck. That'll give us some privacy.
no subject
[He wasn't sure why they needed privacy, but he had no complaints in regard to the Chapel. He promptly left his room, and if 9S was also leaving his room, they would quickly notice that they were actually nearly neighbors, with one room in between them. If not, Connor would make his way to the chapel without delay.]
no subject
Hey, Connor. It's nice to have another android around.
[A2 doesn't count.]
I figured it would be a good idea to share as much about our functionality as we can.
no subject
His attention moved back to 9S at the greeting, offering him a polite smile.]
I see no reason not to. [He stopped just a couple of feet from 9S and held out his hand, skin seeming to recede, revealing shiny white plastic underneath. He looked expectantly at 9S, the thought that this might not be a common practice among androids in his world didn't even occur to Connor.]
no subject
Huh. So you're made of a type of plastic? I guess since you're not a combat android, there's no reason for you to be made of metal alloys.
no subject
The connection is electric and instantaneous, interfacing directly, in each other's systems and processes with access to anything sent to the other over the connection. 9S gets glimpses of Detroit, of the CyberLife facility, thousands of androids being manufactured, androids in public recharge stations, standing and waiting in the rain for their owners to finish shopping so that they could carry their bags.
He's also sent a basic manual for a CyberLife android, though for some reason Connor doesn't actually send him the manual for his own model. Basic functions are outlined, biocomponents that resemble those of a human, a new element called Thirium that powered them and moved information and energy throughout the body of an android. Thier inner workings and basic design, a mix of metal, plastic, electronics and biocomponents.]
no subject
The data may have been instantly absorbed and exactly what he asked for, but he still didn't appreciate the intrusion. 9S hadn't returned the favour, either. He shakes his hand out, lips pursed in a frown.]
Hey, maybe warn a guy next time? Hacking is a good way to transmit viruses, and I'm not looking to get infected.
no subject
I'm sorry... I wasn't- I didn't 'hack' you. I was just sending you information. I thought that's why you wanted to meet in person.
[Connor's hand is still outstretched and he seems to consider it for a moment before lowering it with a slight frown of his own. He could forcefully pull the information he wanted out of 9S, but the process tended to be uncomfortable for the other android. Certainly not something he wanted to do unless there was a dire need to.]
I run regular self diagnostics. I don't have any viruses. [He almost sounds defensive. Almost.]
no subject
[But you know what? He'll let it go. It was just a minor miscommunication, and Connor shouldn't have been privy to anything more than his most prominent and recent thoughts; those being primarily about 2B's disappearance and his own listlessness.
His memories were untouched.]
I wanted to meet you in person because the network isn't secure. Plus, I wanted to compare our specs.
no subject
If someone sent you a text you didn't want, would that be considered hacking? I was just transmitting information to you.
[He frowned a little, but decided that moving on was the best course of action and gave 9S a visual once-over.]
I'd be interested in seeing your specifications. You'll find mine in the manual I gave you. [They were likely very different, Connor's insides were all biocomponents that run on thirium, an element that probably didn't exist in 9S' world.]
no subject
[Connor won't win a fight against someone as stubborn as 9S, so it's a good thing he decides to move on.]
Jeez, you really just gave me everything? [9S will sort through that overload of information later. What a pain. Of course, that's not to say that he's not interested.] I'm a hacker, you know.
Sorry, but I'm just going to tell you my specs. You're a little too liberal with information.
no subject
[There were certain things, like lying and using a gun, that went beyond additional 'features'. They were unique to him so that he could perform negotiations with deviants as well as deactivate them if necessary. Like 9S and A2, Connor was mostly effective against other androids... for the moment.
He offered 9S a smile at his claim.] Apparently, I am a hacker as well, by your definition.
So, what are your specs?
no subject
[9S nods his head. That decides it.]
Alright, I'll go over the basics, but don't go comparing yourselves to real hackers.
[It's a relatively short spiel. 9S goes over the YoRHa squad's superior strength and speed compared to the Resistance androids, as well the Scanner unit's hacking, subjugation, and map making abilities. Scanners usually don't carry weapons, but 9S made modifications to his own code to allow himself to.
Since it's irrelevant to their current situation, he only briefly goes over their unique method of backing up information to the Bunker and implanting it into new bodies if their old one is destroyed. That was something the Resistance androids didn't have. He adds that the Resistance androids and YoRHa models differ because YoRHa runs on an infinite supply of energy generated by their Black Boxes.
There's quite a few vital bits he left out, mostly regarding personality data and memory data, but Connor knows that.]
no subject
He listened attentively to 9S' explanation, though he can't help but think that it would be so much simpler if 9S would just agree to transfer the information to him. They were both androids, it seemed incredibly inefficient to communicate like humans.]
You... modified your own code? Does that mean you were being hunted as a deviant like A2 was? [Because that sounded very not allowed. Of course, Connor didn't bother to mention that he could basically ignore the law that said androids couldn't possess or use weapons. He had on a few occasions and he was only a few months old.]
no subject
[He makes a wry face, not pleased with the implication that he was anything but loyal.]
Uuhh, no? A2's a traitor. I'm an active duty soldier. I only made modifications to improve my functionality.
no subject
[The reaction was actually appreciated in a way. So many people around the station didn't seem to understand the issue with deviancy. Finding someone, even another android, who understood was immensely refreshing.
A modification to improve his functionality...
He digested and processed that statement, weighing it out.] Understood. [He'd done similar things, namely using firearms, which was illegal, but he'd stopped two deviants from harming humans that way.]
no subject
[The usage of the word finally clicks, and 9S looks at Connor with a furrowed brow. He's not quite sure what to make of it, but he desires his own questions answered more, and foregoes answering any of Connor's.]
