I'm going to the planet below sometime soon when I feel like it. This is an open offer to anyone to come with me. Just know that I refuse to guarantee anyone's safety, so if you can't survive in space without oxygen or on unknown planets with unknown atmospheres, you might wanna reconsider coming along.
Also I can only bring like, three people, because I don't feel like carting around more than three of you. [She holds up exactly three fingers.]
Other than that, I'll need someone to look after Pumpkin while I'm gone. She's very important to me so if you screw up I'll make you regret it.
[As if on cue, an extremely adorable sentient pumpkin jumps up onto Lapis' lap, looks into the communicator, and barks.
And then licks the screen. Enjoy your pumpkin kisses, station.]

[A pause as he looks her over and smiles softly at the creature she has.] You're obviously not human... would you mind telling me about yourself? [He tilts his head a little to look at Pumpkin.] And Pumpkin? I've never met anyone like you before.
[There's something about his motions that don't seem quite natural or human either. It's incredibly subtle, but it's there. And, if she's looking closely, she might spot the flicker of blue light coming from a small, circular LED on his right temple.]

Lapis Lazuli, Era 1 Gem, terraformer, yada yada. [She waves her hand dismissively.] There's no other lapis here, so you don't need my cut and facet number. [And she wouldn't give them anyway!] Pumpkin is a pumpkin. I don't know what else to say about that. [Said pumpkin barks and wags her tail. Hello, friend!]

You... [Another twitch. His programming was having a really difficult time with this one. Aliens was one thing, living gems and pumpkins was another.] I don't understand. Gem? You're a gem? [Just saying that sentence was taxing on his processor.] And that... is a pumpkin?

Yep. Sure am. How? No clue, I just know another gem put a bunch of chemicals into the ground and out I came. As for Pumpkin, Steven made her for me and Peridot.

I attempted to match the constellations visible from the observation deck to any known star systems. [He pauses a moment and decides he needs to clarify.] Any star systems recorded by Earth scientists in the year 2038 where I'm from.
[Basically, this place wasn't anywhere that he knew of either.]
Based on your experience, do you have any predictions regarding the planet based on what we can see of it?

Early human? That would be surprising but, I suppose, it is a possibility.

A projection of solid light? I'm not sure I understand. Light is not solid. Does that mean things can pass through you? Can you physically manipulate items? [Basically, could she interact with her environment if she was made of light.]

Of course I can physically manipulate items. That's the point of me projecting a form. I can't otherwise interact with just about anything otherwise. Obviously.

[He opened his mouth and then simply closed it and exhaled, seeming to give up, a weird android sigh of defeat. Lapis was breaking physics again and Connor's programming didn't like it... again.
His LED was a solid yellow as he simply had to force himself to move on.]

I apologize, I didn't mean to imply you were lying.
[He tilted his head to the side, looking a little puzzled.] That's right... I was created by humans. [He frowned slightly.] I suppose I have nothing to compare humans to but their theories when it comes to physics seem accurate for the world in which they were theorized. Things like magic don't exist where I come from.
