This roster. It seems other people have gotten it too. It's obviously evidence for what was happening here, but also a good suggestion.
They had a Chief of Security. Where I'm from, my job was to keep things secure and safe. So unless someone has reasonable objections to it, I'm going to continue that work here. Call me Chief of Security or not. I don't care.
I'm going to mark areas known to be dangerous, like the sinking doors. If there are any other locations you notice and are worried about let me know. And if anyone personally does anything harmful to another person then I will step in and stop it.

Sure, we just got a doc that outlines what - I imagine - must've been the crew roster that came before us, but we ain't that crew.

Where I'm from, Security has a lot more to do with keepin' people in line than it does with keepin' people safe.

I understand trust needs to be earned, and I intend to do that. But whether or not people trust me now doesn't stop me from protecting them. This is a declaration of intent.

I'm not telling people what to do. If they want to get hurt that's their business. I'm here to try and prevent it, that's what I'm used to doing.

Someone who decides what safety means and how to apply it, too, which ain't a position anyone just steps in, least of all among a crew who don't know each other and don't even know how we got here. We need to be buildin' trust, not makin' it even harder to establish.
Look no one's gonna say that you shouldn't look out for people, but this ain't the way to go about it. If you want to help keep the station safe, then do it as a concerned citizien, and not with a title so damn loaded as that one.
