Hi. My name is Captain Steve Rogers. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. Where I come from, protecting people was very important to me. It still is. This ship is dangerous and I think we're getting side-tracked from an important conversation here.
I don't think we should worry too much about that roster file we were sent, but it's not a bad idea to have some sort of security team that can respond to a crisis and keep track of everything we have figured out about this place so far. I'd like to help with any effort like that, but it might be best if we wait before assigning rank to anyone. Fighting over who's the boss or throwing baseless orders around isn't going to help anyone or keep them safe. Our priorities should be safety and finding a way to leave.
It's been suggested to me that some of the things that have been happening to us could be some sort of security response from the ship. Does anyone with a better understanding of computers want to weigh in on that? Can anyone try to access those systems? There's still a lot of the station that we can't access and I know some of us have been trying to work on that.
Finally, if there's anything else I can help with, please reach out to me.
[ And a later text that follows: ]
I think people have misunderstood what I want to do. I don't want anyone to have power over the rest of us. This would be for dealing with outside threats and organizing information that would be available to everyone. Anyone who wanted to help would be welcome.

And yes, I may stress a little about this stuff. Not long ago, I was fighting off an alien invasion of a major city that we'd had no preparation for. A lot of people died. I can't help thinking we could have saved at least some of them if we'd been more prepared.
[ He can't help feeling the weight of everyone who's been lost. ]

We aren't really working together though. None of us know each other, none of us can trust each other. It's not anyone's fault or anything, it's just kinda how it is right now. I mean, shit, there's a guy on the network compilin' lists of people for god knows what.
Maybe if we can figure out a way to get to know each other, or maybe if there was even some sorta direction other than like... oh hey! we're stuck together floating in space with no direction or meaning for bein here, it would make more sense.
Man, I'm sorry about your home world. How are you supposed to even prepare for somethin like that? No one thinks that one day OH SHIT we're gonna be invaded by little green space men.

I'm a known figure on my world. I guess I hadn't had to think about that in a while. I'm happy do what I can to show that I'm operating in good faith here and I will take anyone else at their word unless they give me a reason not to.
[ Though he's entirely absent from giving his medical information to anyone on the network, so maybe not entirely. ]

Known figure? Like... a politician?
no subject
No. Definitely not. I was sort of a war hero, I guess. Does your world have Nazis? Or HYDRA?
[ Nazis, at least, seem to be something other worlds might have in common. That that's something that unites so many of their diverging worlds and histories is something Steve kind of hates. ]
I volunteered to let scientists experiment on me so that I could help fight them. That's what I'm known for. I'm sure there was a time when people would have liked to see me go into politics, but I don't have the stomach for it.
[ Too honest, maybe? ]
no subject
Yeah, Nazis were in my world, but were taken out in WWII.
[Oh, so maybe he's from the far-past?
Explain this not-aging thing, Steve.]
Holy shit
You volunteered to be experimented on!?
[This guy's either crazy, a hero, or both.]
God, man, that's messed up. But you really fought them?
My home country has a saying that we tell kids when they're bein little ratty snobs. "You don't want to grow up to be a politician, do you?" So that kinda says how we feel about them in general.

And politicians are usually the people asking me to do things I don't want to do. Wrong things.
[ And Steve's never been great at taking orders. ]

But if you say you're a hero, I trust ya
Especially after that comment about politics

I do know what 2016 is like, though, assuming your world is similar to mine.
