Greetings, this is YoRHa Unit 9S. Most of the people here I've met are humans, but I'm an android. The humans of my world have lived on the Moon since 5012 AD, when the aliens invaded, and we androids were created to reclaim the Earth from them.

[There's an awkward pause.]

...It's been a long time since then, though. Coming here was the first time I was able to even meet a real human! It's truly an honor to meet all of you.

[With that stuffy introduction out of the way, 9S' gains a little more character. Really, he sounds like a totally different person.]

Soooo... I saw the station roster. Isn't a lot of this stuff redundant? Uh, seriously, I don't know what half of these mean? Is there a difference between a medic, a doctor, and a surgeon?

Er, anyway. I'm good with computers, so I guess that means I should work in Computing & IT.

...Or as a Computer Engineer?

That's right, but I haven't had a whole lot of luck with the terminals here. Not yet, anyway.

Er, I could try? I'm not entirely sure how the terminal operates, it might be limited to some external supply, or pre-set molecular recipes.

How do you even go about making a machine that takes in the inputs of whatever a person tells it to make and then it like... does its hardest to replicate the stuff? You think about it, right? Something really obscure like takoyaki should be kinda weird to make unless you're a programmer who knew about Japanese food and stuff. I dunno, makes you kinda wonder about the crew.

Maybe if you can't hack it, you could reverse engineer it to see what the people were like who made the thing to begin with?

Uhh... Hacking and R&D aren't really the same thing, and we're talking about you humans' only source of food here.

[He wouldn't even know where to start with "reverse engineering". If it were just any old bit of machinery lying around, that would be one thing, but it was vital to the survival of the humans on this station.]
