[9S' voice comes in smooth and practiced, at least for the start of his introduction.]
Greetings, this is YoRHa Unit 9S. Most of the people here I've met are humans, but I'm an android. The humans of my world have lived on the Moon since 5012 AD, when the aliens invaded, and we androids were created to reclaim the Earth from them.
[There's an awkward pause.]
...It's been a long time since then, though. Coming here was the first time I was able to even meet a real human! It's truly an honor to meet all of you.
[With that stuffy introduction out of the way, 9S' gains a little more character. Really, he sounds like a totally different person.]
Soooo... I saw the station roster. Isn't a lot of this stuff redundant? Uh, seriously, I don't know what half of these mean? Is there a difference between a medic, a doctor, and a surgeon?
Er, anyway. I'm good with computers, so I guess that means I should work in Computing & IT.
...Or as a Computer Engineer?
Well, I'm here to provide support wherever you humans need me. Glory to Mankind!

[Actually this kid seems less robotic than some people, wierd.]
Don't worry 'bout roster stuff, lil robro. We're just trying to figure out why we got it and what it means for the past of this station, rather than the future.
no subject
And my name's 9S, not "robro"...
[With that out of the way, it's back to business.] Doesn't it just mean this station was functional at some point? We didn't need a roster to tell us that. It doesn't even have job descriptions, it's pretty useless.
no subject
Yuki. We could go with that.
Now, on to addressing the 'android' bit. You're all made of non-organic parts, right? [What business??? Business is lame, talk to him about robots.]
And yeah, it was functional but what was the function is more my question.

You are a combat model?
[Her own voice is unquestionably artificial. She still manages to convey skepticism all the same.]
no subject
Fighting's not really my forte. I'm built more for intel. So what are you, some kind of prototype? Or is your voice modulator broken? You sure don't sound like an android.
no subject
She is, however, not going to admit this. Not after he calls her a prototype.]
I never self-identified as an android, [Arid responds, bristling.] I am an A.R.I.D—a combat AI.
I have no need to pretend to be human.

Maybe this is like a linkpearl? Gods know he struggles enough with those as it is. His voice is slightly uncertain when he speaks.]
Hello...[What did he say his name was again?]...Your hah unit nine ess?
[There's a large variety of names on Eorzea but this is definitely the most unusual he's encountered.]
Would you provide support to one who not a human?
there's my boi HOLLA
[That's an interesting question, though. At first 9S is prepared to just say "no", but after a moment's consideration he rethinks it.]
That depends on what you mean by "not a human". I'm not human either, you know. So I guess anyone who supports the humans I'll support too.
[There's a big fat asterisk next to that statement.]
hello 9S meet N'yanS--
He doesn't really think too hard about the causes he supports, but it's really hard to support something he knows absolutely nothing about?]
What's a human? What is their cause?
literally the same character how did u get away with this

Wait, if we're the first humans you've met, then who built you?
[ The first question he latches onto, still a bit leery of having androids walking amongst them. ]
no subject
The humans did. Well, not every unit directly, but they still created us.

Good with computers, huh?
no subject
Yup. We Scanners are the only YoRHa units with the innate ability to hack. We can also handle basic repairs, more if we have experience, but it's not something we're inlaid with like the R&D team.

If you're looking for something computer-related to work on, there's something you might or might not be able to help me with.

Yes. Yes she is.

I'd assume that a medic is a first responder, a doctor is someone you see regularly for check ups, and a surgeon performs actual surgery. But I'm not an expert.
Isn't it kinda weird that an Android wouldn't have a database for something like that?
no subject
Ren is the first person, human or otherwise, to actually give 9S an answer to his questions. He's also the first person to properly respond to YoRHa's catchphrase, and that acknowledgement fills 9S with a deep sense of duty and pride.]
Thank you, Sir. We do have a database, but I don't have access to it from this location, so I'm kind of out of luck. Still, with the limited amount of individual we have on board, I think we're going to require some multitasking.

How old are you? Or wait...holy many years since you were you activated? Which one should I use? I'm just excited to speak to an android for the first time.
text;
Since we androids are born fully matured, we usually go by roll-out date. At least as far as us YoRHa go. I've been active for almost three years now.
