[ Erik appears on the video looking straight at the camera, the angle wide enough that it's clear he's not actually holding it. It's unclear who, or what, is holding it as he is alone. He's deeply uncomfortable with having to make this address, but as he rarely looks pleased with what's going on anyway this isn't terribly different from his normal expression. ]

Fellow residents. A few days ago, while repairing the gravity array, I used some abilities that I had previously concealed. On my world, I am what is known as a mutant. That means I have an active X-Gene, which grants me abilities that humans do not possess. These abilities can manifest in a multitude of ways. As for myself, I can control metal by manipulating magnetic fields.

My people are persecuted on my world. We are subject to everything from casual bigotry to attempts at nuclear genocide. When we arrived, I suspected that this could be another crime against us, or that the other residents would display the same prejudice that I have been battling for the last twenty years. So I concealed my identity and my abilities in an attempt to protect myself and any other mutants on board. [ He sighs softly. ] I also did not expect to be here long enough for it to matter.

Since this engagement appears to be lasting longer than I first thought, and I have been using my abilities in mixed company, as it were, I decided the most efficient course of action would be to make a public announcement rather than having multiple personal conversations. My name is Erik Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto. I am a mutant. I apologize to those I have misled. And if you are also a mutant, I want you to know that you are not alone, and do not need to be afraid.

[ When the video turns on. it's a featureless head looking back. No, really, it's entirely featureless: no eyes, nose or mouth. One also wasn't used to needing to use an extraneous piece of hardware to connect but he was learning fast. When speech does come, the voice is far too deep to be anything other than synthetic; ]

"I was offline when I came to be here. I require a means of getting back to where I was."

[ One did not choose to completely go offline but he had been. That in of itself is alarming. Though since One was not designed to interact with humans, it seems like he is making a demand. It was also disturbing to not be able to wirelessly connect to the terminal he had already found. In fact, most of Domesticon's systems were unreachable. That last part wasn't very worrying, and might actually be helpful. If it wasn't for the total isolation in it. As antisocial as he was, One's mental state was tied to not being completely alone, since he was part of a vast collective once. In fact, that's why he has made use of this communicator; in order to find other sentients. ]

[The call registers as video, but displays only a geometric mess of blue. Those who recognize the logo won't be too surprised by what comes next.]

<Welcome to Domesticon. Working together today, for a more efficient tomorrow.>

[Cheery and automated, like a call center recording... and replaced, immediately after with a much more human range of tone.]

Hey. Me again.

So, your friendly local techs took a crack at system access the other day. Most functions are still locked, but we're reading big electrical spikes along the shaft and behind the sealed area on Deck Two. Something to think about, if you're the type to pry at doors.

[If, unfortunately not the only thing.]

This also, ah... showed up on the camera feeds.

[The AI's "face" vanishes from the video display, replaced with a view from one of the consoles. It shows a young, fair-haired human making his way down one of Reverie's many halls: Snake, for those who knew him. He doesn't do anything unusual. But after a moment, the human's outline distorts... shimmers... and melts away, leaving no trace of flesh or clothing.

The video reverts, and Hank's voice picks back up, tense with concern.]

He's not the only one. Run a headcount with your friends?

[[ooc: The tech collaboration he's referring to is here. While not OOCly planned in conjunction, the Deck 2 spike is the same area Team Door will be ICly going for on the 15th—so feel free to have your characters connect the dots!]]
